The Scarlet Semaphore

Inside a shadowy, cluttered steampunk guild hall, male and female members of the Scarlet Semaphore in red-trimmed cloaks huddle over archaic keyboards, telegraphs, and blinking semaphore lamps. Glowing parchments with cryptic symbols float in the air.

The Scarlet Semaphore is the guild for those who prefer their mischief in code rather than cudgel. Part hackerspace, part salon, part something the Department of Silent Stability prefers not to name in official correspondence, it operates at the intersection of curiosity and consequence. The foreign element in the Satir change model.

Members are drawn from the Unseen University, city’s workshops, counting houses, and certain departments that technically do not exist. Stories of how this arrangement evolves are added as they are imagined to happen, or shortly after, once everyone has agreed on what did not occur.
