Root-Me challenges¶

Write-ups from Root-Me, sorted by what each challenge exercises.

A challenge states the goal and says nothing about the method. The flag is checked at the end and nothing is checked before it, so an hour can go into an approach that was never going to work, which is about as close as a training platform gets to the real thing. The library is old and wide: web, binaries, ciphers, forensics, protocols, and a long tail of the obscure. The shortest challenges are usually the ones that take longest, because a two-line problem has nowhere to hide a hint.
